10 Famous Actresses Of Bangladesh

There is a saying that, ” Actresses are the showpiece of a movie!”  But normally we can’t even think of a movie, tv series, telefilm or drama without an actress. We feel stories through the acting where actresses are the heart of a story. Like other countries, Bangladesh has talented actresses who have contributed to Bangladesh’s entertainment industry a lot. Let’s just talk about the top 10 famous actresses of Bangladesh. 

Kabori Sarwar: An extremely prevalent Bangladeshi actress who began her professional film career when she was only 13 years old. She was well known for her adorable, gorgeous & sweet looks. Her excellent and skilled performance hypnotized the audiences! She acted in different types of films with different renowned actors at her times. She won many awards. For instance, she won the “Bachsas award” six times and she won the “National Film Award” two times. In  2008 she was elected to the “National Parliament” in Bangladesh serving as an MP until 2014. She is now a social worker. 

Rozina: One of the most graceful Bangladeshi actress Rozina started her career at an early age of 16. Her actual name was Renu which she changed into Rozina in 1976.   She has acted in around 350 movies in various languages in Nepal, India and Bangladesh. She was the first Bangladeshi actress to be cast as a lead actress in a Bollywood film. This heart-throb actress received many awards, such as the National Film Award, “Meril Prothom Alo Award.” Now she is directing the serials and dramas. 

Shabnam: Legendary actress, Shabnam started her acting career in 1967 with Pakistani actor Nadeem in Urdu film Chakori. Throughout her career, she appeared in around three hundred films in Bengali,  Urdu and  Hindi. She was one of the most powerful actresses in the subcontinent. She was the most famous actress of Pakistan as well. She acted with the best actors of that time. This gorgeous actress won “Bangladesh National Film Award” ten times which is a record. Now she is retired and lives in the USA. 

Suborna Mustafa: She is one of the boldest as well as attractive television, film and stage actresses in Bangladesh. There was no looking back in her career.   She acted in many super hit dramas. She acted in the first-ever package drama serial of Bangladesh Television, “Shilpi,” which was directed by Mamunur Rashid. In 1980 she made her film debut in “Ghuddi.” She won “Merit Award (1983)”, “Bangladesh National Film Award (2019)”, “Ekushey Padak Award  (2019).” This 2020 her film “Gondi” received uncut censor certificate from Bangladesh Film Censor Board. Since February 2019 she is the current “Jatiya Sangsad” member of Bangladesh. 

Diti: Actress Diti started her journey as a singer. Through singing, she was noticed by the actor Al Mansur.  She acted in many television dramas. She came to the film industry through a talent hunt competition named “Notun Mukher Sondhane” in 1984. Her debut film Daak Diye Jai, directed by Udayon Chowdhury was never released. Her first released film was Ami-i Ostad. She acted in more than 200 films. She was awarded the National Film Award in 1987. This star was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2015 and left this world in 2016. 

Purnima: She debuted her film career when she was in junior school. She played different types of characters throughout her career. She was always loved by the audience for her excellent performance. She won Meril Prothom Alo Awards three times (2003,2004,2006). She also won Bangladesh National Film Awards in 2010. Though she is well known as a film actress, she also acted in many mind-blowing dramas. Now she judges as well as hosts different TV shows. In Bangladesh, she is so famous that different shows become hit just by the name of Purnima! 

Jaya Ahsan: She started her career as a model in the late 1990s. She has performed in many television series and telefilms. Now she works in  Bangladeshi and Indian Bengali films. As a lead actress, her debut film was “Guerrilla.” Her latest film was “Robibar (2019).” She won the “Bangladesh National Award” four times. She also received awards including “Filmfare Awards” (first Bangladeshi to win this award), “Zee Cine Awards” and “BFJA Awards.” She was also honoured with the “ABP Ananda Sera Bangali for her achievement in acting. She received the “Meril Prothom Alo Award” seven times. She also won “Tele Cine Awards.” She received the ‘”Dashobhuja Bangali 2019 award.” 

 

Nusrat Imroz Tisha: Tisha started her acting career through drama. She started her film career in 2009. She is known as a real actress. As her performance is too touchy, on the screen she always looks so real. She seems to enjoy acting. That’s why audiences love to watch her acting and always get hooked up with the story.  She won the “Meril Prothom Alo Award” for the best actress from 2009 to 2014. In 2016  she won Bangladesh National Film Award. 

Bidya Sinha Mim: She is one of the most gorgeous actresses in Bangladesh and also was the winner of ‘Lux Channel I Superstar’ in 2007. She started her journey in the film industry in 2008 in the Amar Ache Jol film which was directed by Humayun Ahmed. She has also acted in two Indian Bengali films. She has already acted in around a hundred dramas and twenty films.  In 2008  she  won the “Meril Prothom Alo Award” as best actress for “Amar Ache Jol movie. In 2014, she won the “Bangladesh National Film Award” as best actress for the movie“Jonakir Alo.” She is a good inspiration for the newcomers. 

Nusraat Faria: She started her career as a model in several television commercials. Her debut film, “Aashiqui,” released in late 2015. Aashiqui was a lucky charm for Nusraat Faria! She earned the “Meril Prothom Alo Award” for best newcomer for “Aashiqui.” In  2016 she received  “Tele Cine Award” for best actress from Bangladesh for the movie “Badsha – The Don.” She has already acted in around twelve films. She is already a very popular actress both in Bangladesh and Indian Bangla film industry.  Nusraat Faria gives all the credit to her hard work and good luck.
