Dr. Shafaq Naseem Akhtar – Miss Planet Pakistan 2023
A second title for Pakistan in just one year. The first title won was at the Miss Aura International 2022 pageant in Turkey and this time it was the Miss Humanity title won by the reigning Miss Pakistan Universal 2022, Dr. Shafaq Naseem Akhtar.
Dr. Shafaq Akhtar represented Pakistan for the first time in Miss Planet in Cambodia. After a fun filled week of activities, Dr. Shafaq Akhtar represented Pakistan well during the coronation night of the function and won the Miss Humanity Award for Pakistan.
When asked how she felt getting a second title for Pakistan, Dr. Shafaq Akhtar stated, “I feel very proud and happy. There were many Cambodians locals who were cheering me in the crowd as well as I was surprised to see many well established Pakistani business community present in the audience. They came and personally thanked me for representing Pakistan and that is when I felt very happy and accomplished. This is my second title that I have brought home and its given me a purpose for life!”

Sonia Ahmed, President of Miss Pakistan, said, “This drive that Dr. Shafaq Akhtar has is very rare. Very few girls like to dedicate themselves to this industry as this industry demands hard work, dedication and passion. Without passion for the pageant world, girls cannot go forward. I am very glad that we have brought home titles for Pakistan.”
Pakistan has been working very hard is reaching winning titles under the Miss Pakistan World company established by Sonia Ahmed in 2002. The company has seen various title winners but has yet to reach a top 5 winning position in the world’s top pageants. Over the 21 years, Pakistan has changed in terms of having a more moderate approach to events like pageantry.
