A story that is a myth and where the innocent people of that era, “mostly dhoti clad farmers,” would have never even thought of doing anything of this level seemed unreal and pointless. We say pointless because it was not expected of Aamir Khan to do such a film, as he usually carefully chooses his films and gives us a social message in the end.
“Thugs of Hindostan,” seemed to be a cheap re-make of Johnny Depp’s “Pirates of the Caribbean!” And Pirates of the Caribbean has been already watched 6 times by the audiences around the world. This film was boring for most parts as there were hardly any scenes given to the actresses like Fatima Sheikh or Katrina Kaif.
This was supposed to be Fatima’s lead role opposite Aamir Khan and yet she was under-utilized! Katrina Kaif was kept only for the two item numbers, which still had Aamir Khan in both the songs. It sometimes feels as if the director or even Aamir Khan are maybe fans of the movie Pirates of the Caribbean or Johnny Depp and hence wanted to pay an Indian Tribute!
The film has zero romance as Aamir Khan’s character seemed to attracted to the characters of Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sheikh. In the end the director failed to establish any relationship between the two women and Aamir Khan.
The film cost 300 crores to make, and the first day earnings of the film was around 43 crores Indian Rupees! The weeks ahead will tell whether the film will be breaking even or not!
