TORONTO, Ont. — The stage is set to determine Canada’s fastest driver — in the digital world.

After 300 participants attempted to qualify online and furious racing by more than 2,500 contestants in the Esports Zone over eight days at the 2019 Canadian International AutoShow (Castrol Alley, 700 level in the South Building of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre), the 16 finalists are in place for the WorldGaming Network Pfaff Forza Motorsport 7 Canadian Challenge, driven by Castrol

The final brackets will be completed Sunday in the Esports Zone, Driven by Castrol, around the newly wrapped Porsche 911 GT3R that was designed by #CreatedByCastrol contest winner Jonathan Ponce. Unveiled Saturday afternoon, the design will adorn one of the Pfaff IMSA racecars this season.

For his winning design, Mr. Ponce takes home a photo package, Castrol swag and $3,500 cash. The second-place prize pack — Castrol swag and $1,500 — went to Josh Kerkove and the Castrol swag for third place was won by Luc Linton.

More than 120 design ideas were submitted for the contest, which was judged by members of the Castrol and Pfaff Motorsports team. Longtime Pfaff partner C17 Media wrapped the car in the new design over the past two days at the AutoShow.

The finals are also ready to go in Custom Car Battlegrounds: AutoShow Edition. The 1967 Ford Mustang owned by Kyle is up against Mike’s 1936 Ford Pickup. The third-place battle pits Ruben’s 1964 Chevrolet Impala SS against Matt’s 1950 Dodge Coronet Club Coupe.

Voting for the championship bracket closes at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 24th; the winner will be announced an hour later in the Custom Car Battlegrounds: AutoShow Edition exhibit in Castrol Alley on the 700 level of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre’s South Building.
