Maryam the new face of Mrs. Pakistan

Maryam Yasmin Raja was born and raised in The Netherlands, currently residing in the globally renowned city of Amsterdam. As the daughter of Raja Khalid Mehmood, Maryam is a Pakistani woman living in Holland. Despite the Dutch-speaking environment, her household maintained the use of Urdu, allowing her to remain connected to her heritage and fluent in her native language.

In her daily life, Maryam works as a Copywriter and SEO specialist. Beyond her professional endeavors, she engages in sports, walking, and indulging in fashion shopping. A passionate fashion enthusiast, Maryam enjoys exploring various fashion brands and receiving beauty treatments, firmly believing in the importance of self-care. She emphasizes that women should prioritize their well-being independently, regardless of circumstances.

One of the aspects Maryam cherishes most about Holland is its multicultural society, which has enabled her to form friendships with people from diverse backgrounds, some of whom she considers soulmates.

Inspired to embark on new ventures, Maryam decided to initiate projects in her fatherland, Pakistan. Although her family visited every 2-3 years, this journey would be unique as she planned to travel alone and explore different cities. Her goal is to document and share the authentic essence of Pakistan with the world.

Maryam’s first project involves creating a documentary about Pakistan, showcasing its diverse cities, stunning natural landscapes, and vibrant people. Using her Netflix-approved camera, she aims to produce a documentary for the big screen, targeting an international audience.

Her second project is her participation as Mrs. Pakistan 2024. Proud to represent Pakistan on international stages, Maryam aspires to win the title and demonstrate to the world that Pakistani women are capable of achieving anything as long as they follow their dreams. She seeks to dispel misconceptions about Pakistan and highlight its remarkable female doctors, teachers, data analysts, mothers, and the esteemed work ethic prevalent in the country. Additionally, she plans to showcase Pakistan’s thriving fashion industry, including its talented female makeup artists and models.

Maryam’s third project is a music endeavor. Under the name Denver Jones, she has already released two mainstream songs in Dutch and English. To honor her Pakistani roots, she is working on an Urdu song and plans to collaborate with renowned Pakistani singers such as Sahir Ali Bhagga and his son Azaan Ali Bhagga. The music video for this song will be shot in Pakistan, a country that holds a special place in her heart.

Uncertain of her return to Holland, Maryam anticipates staying in Pakistan at least until the end of the summer and plans to visit frequently in the future. She hopes to promote tourism in Pakistan, believing that the world is missing out on its hidden treasures.
