“In around 2020, a severe pneumonia-like illness will spread throughout the globe, attacking the lungs and the bronchial tubes and resisting all known treatments,” it said. “Almost more baffling than the illness itself will be the fact that it will suddenly vanish as quickly as it arrived, attack again ten years later, and then disappear completely.” This was a prediction published in the book, “End of Days,” by Sylvia Browne who died in 2013. But her prediction resonates with what is going on in the world today. It seems right to say that the 2020 pneumonia like illness is Coronavirus. However, Browne was known for inaccurate predictions and her book was written after the SARS breakout.

Nostradamus predicted that the world will end in 3797 AD and before ending it will enjoy a period of 1000 years of peace. So, if we go by predictions then around 2797 AD the world will be peaceful! However, he did say that man can change the course of these predictions if he wanted a better world. This goes to say that if the world leaders decide the fate of all war-zone countries then we can have peace now. So, our destiny depends in our hands or precisely the hands of the government.

End of Days are near, as predicted by both the Bible and the Quran. In the Bible in Mathew 24:36, Jesus says, “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father,” which basically means that no one knows as to when it shall happen. It started with fires in Brazil’s Amazon Jungles, then the Australian wildfires with no rains, then the locust plague in Africa and the Middle East and finally the World pandemic — Covid-19. All these are seen as signs by both the Christians and the Muslims.

According to Evangelist Michael Synder, the plaques that hit the world were: 1) Armies Of Locusts; 2) Extremely Bizarre Weather Patterns; 3) Unprecedented Flooding; 4) Major Earthquakes; 5) Unusual Volcanic Eruptions; 6) The Coronavirus; 7) The African Swine Fever; 8) The H1N1 Swine Flu; 9) The H5N1 Bird Flu; 10) The H5N8 Bird Flu 11) The Fires burning the forests

In the Holy Quran, the end of days has major signs listed as follows:

  • Sexual immorality appears among people to such an extent that they commit it openly, except that they will be afflicted by plagues and diseases unknown to their forefathers;
  • People cheat in weights and measures (business, trades, etc.) and are stricken with famine, calamity, and oppression as a result;
  • They withhold charity and hoard their wealth, and rain is withheld from the sky from them; there is rain only for animals;
  • They break their covenant with God and His Messenger and God enables their enemies to overpower them and take some of what is in their hands;
  • God causes those who do not live according to His book to fight among themselves

Both the Quran and the Bible expect Jesus Christ to come back and save the world. In Judaism, the end times are usually called the “end of days” (aḥarit ha-yamimאחרית הימים), repeated several times in the Tanakh (Jewish Bible: Tora).

What it actually means is that during the end of days’, the human population will start believing in one God and will live in peace forever.

As the “End of the Days” approach, there are two paths that the world could take. The first is filled with kindness and miracles.

The other path is described as a Messiah coming “humble and riding upon a donkey” (Zechariah 9:9). In this scenario, nature will take its course, and society will undergo a slow painful deterioration, with much suffering. God’s presence will be hidden, and his guidance will not be perceivable.

The second path states the following:

  • There will be a valueless society in which religion will not only be chided, it will be used to promote immorality
  • Young people will not respect the old
  • Governments will become godless
  • Disease and sufferings

Then finally a Messiah will come and lead the Jewish redemption. He will inspire all peoples to follow one God, rebuild the Temple, gather in any remaining Jewish exiles to Israel, and re-establish the Sanhedrin. (Maimonides – Melachim ch. 11-12)

The Jews believe that the Messiah can come at any moment, and it all depends on the actions of mankind. God will be ready when the action of mankind will be ready! For as King David says: “Redemption will come today – if you hearken to His voice.”

All three religions believe in the coming back of a Messiah who will urge people to believe in only one God. And then the world will carry on and there would be only world peace.

With a total of 4.3 billion people belonging to the the Muslim, Christian and Jewish religions, which are known as the Abrahamic religions believing in one God and sharing the same history of religion, it does seem that majority of the world is a believer of Messianic redemption.

Do we yearn for a Messiah?

Messiah

With war and pollution threatening our planet, ego and confusion effecting family life, people around the world living for showing off material possessions, divorces increasing, women not getting married anymore and high rates of abuse in society. We all yearn for redemption in some way or the other. Questions that are now being thought about by a good majority of the world: Do you yearn for the arrival of the Messiah?” Or “Do we want a Messiah to save the world, save Palestine, save Syria, save Kashmir, save the planet, stop the wars, save the children and the list goes on?”

For the first time the whole world is praying together for one cause. This may have never happened before since the existence of mankind. But people of all religions and denominations are one finally for the elimination of one deadly virus. Maybe we all can work together just like we all can pray together and maybe the Coronavirus is an indication that the world must come together as one no matter what the differences are!
