The major contributing factors towards obesity in South Asians is the lack of physical exercise and increased calorie consumption. Every day coffee shops are bombarded with lineups of coffees, lattes containing chemicals hormone-disruptors and additives. Artificial sweeteners and antibiotic milk products and by products, as well as GMO dependent choices of food are the major cause of the rise in estrogen in the body leading to more fat cells and more obesity.

Studies have also shown that people eating out in restaurants or fast food eaters had more chemicals in their bodies then the ones eating at home. BPA’s are found in hard plastics, Arsenic is found in herbicides, insecticides, pesticides, rice and electronic devices. Lead is present in tea as well. PFOA (perfluorooctanoic acid) is found in non-stick cookware. Mercury is found in fish. Triclosan is found in hand sanitizers, soaps and toothpaste.
